Undocumented Student Action Week

Serving the largest number of undocumented students in the state, California Community Colleges are committed to serving ALL students, regardless of immigration status. In its 4th year, Undocumented Student Action Week (USAW), October 19-23, 2020, is a system-wide campaign to advocate and provide support resources for our undocumented student population. Undocumented Student Action Week (USAW), October 19-23, 2020, is next week. As a system-wide campaign to advocate and provide support resources for our undocumented students, we hope you will join us in our efforts. During the week, California Community Colleges are encouraged to take action.

Here are 7 ways you can take action in solidarity with undocumented students:

1. Register for Webinars

This year, Action Week includes a series of audience targeted webinars open to the California Community College system. We encourage you to (1) plan to participate in webinars specific to your needs and (2) share this webinar list widely.

2. Use Our Online Advocacy Form

Regardless of your immigration status, contact your federal and state representatives. It only takes a few minutes. To advocate for undocumented students, use the following link and share it with others: Online Advocacy Form

3. Connect with an UndocuLiaison at your college.

To find an UndocuLiaison near you, visit the Chancellor's Office website, and share this information with your undocumented students.

4. Post on Social Media

Download the "Undocumented Students Are" images.
Use your IG story to complete the quote.
Tag the USAW Instagram @cccundocuactionweek and use the hashtags #USAW2020, #ccccforundocu and #undocumentedsutdentactionweek, so that the Action Week Partners and others can see your post.

5. Update your Facebook or Twitter profile picture

Instructions on how to add the official USAW filter to your Facebook or Twitter profile picture.

6. Join #EquityChat on Twitter Wednesday Oct. 21, @ 5PM

The Twitter #EquityChat will be held Wednesday, October 21 at 5:00 p.m. Follow the Equity Avengers @iamkeithcurry and @SDMesaPrez to join the conversation.

7. Encourage allies and others to vote!
