We know many of our students face challenges that include food insecurity and being hungry in the classroom. Madera Community College has created the Lion’s Den to provide food and snacks for our students to give them the energy to keep attending classes, studying and doing homework.

Cal Fresh:

Cal Fresh provides free money for groceries. If students apply for financial aid, why not apply for food aid. Applying online takes just a few minutes and if approved, you’ll get money to purchase groceries via an electronic benefits transfer (EBT) card every month that the student is eligible. For more information visit- Students Cal fresh application

Students can come to the Lion’s Den Food pantry to get Cal Fresh information if students need help filling out the application or have any questions of the requirements to be eligible Saul Lopez, food pantry coordinator can provide aid.
