In the spirit of “Serving Those Who Serve”, the Madera Community College’s, (MCC), Veteran’s Program faculty and staff are here to welcome our veterans and support them on their educational journey. Our goal is to assist all veterans with a smooth transition from military service to college life. The Veteran’s Program is here to support the educational goals of our veterans, reservists and their eligible family members. We are committed to assisting and providing the resources and tools necessary for achieving successful academic and vocational outcomes. Welcome to the Madera Community College. Information for new and returning students

Welcome to Madera Community College! If you are new to MCC or have not attended for two or more semesters, you should meet with a Veterans Counselor to begin the process for application/registration and application for VA education benefits. During this appointment you will complete the steps to begin your educational experience and understand how the college is there to support you throughout your educational journey.

Additionally, you will need to ensure that you complete the following:

  1. Obtain a copy of your DD214 (Member copy 4, or Service-2 with Character of Service): Get military service records
  2. Request official copies of all transcripts from all previously attended colleges or universities:   Transcripts must be official, (no need to request them from any SCCCD college attended).  Military training transcripts should be ordered at this time as they will be needed to apply prior service credit. (Military transcripts with the exception of CCAF/Air Academy may be ordered through JST/Joint Services Transcript:  Order Transcript
  3. Submit VA Certification of Eligibility or proof that you have applied for VA education benefits at this webpage: How to Apply
  4. Schedule an appointment to meet with the veterans counselor at Madera Community College or at the Oakhurst College Center at gracie.spear@maderacollege.edu
