The Rising Scholars Program at MCC creates meaningful opportunities and clear pathways to justiceimpacted students. Our mission is to support students in achieving their academic, personal, and professional goals. Through counseling, mentorship, and community partnerships, the program strives to empower students to thrive in college and beyond while creating a sense of belonging and opportunity for all.

Justice-Involved Students

Justice-Involved is defined as a person who is currently or formerly incarcerated in a California Correctional facility, or formerly detained at a juvenile facility. 

Justice-Impacted Students

Justice-Impacted refers to someone who has been directly impacted by the justice system, whether through arrest, detainment, or confinement.
