Direct Stafford Loans, from the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program, are low-interest loans for eligible students to help cover the cost of higher education at a four-year college or university, community college, or trade, career, or technical school. Eligible students borrow directly from the U.S. Department of Education at participating schools.
You must first complete a FAFSA and your financial aid eligibility must be determined before applying for a loan.Step 1: Complete the Loan Master Promissory Note (MPN) and Entrance Counseling.
Your financial aid eligibility must be determined before applying for a loan. Submit a COMPLETED Direct Loan Request form to the Financial Aid Office. Requests submitted with missing or blank information will not be accepted or processed.
Students must complete the above steps prior to the deadline for the semester the loan is being requested.
