A Message From President Reyna to Students Impacted by the Creek Fire

Sep 8, 2020

Students,

We hope you are staying safe and are aware of the extremely dangerous conditions caused by the Creek Fire. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families. Your safety is our top priority, and your instructors are aware that you may need time away from your coursework to focus on more immediate needs.

If you are impacted by the fires and unable to temporarily engage in your course work, then please let your instructors know via email and/or Canvas if possible.  We understand some of you may have no or limited internet access due to the current circumstances.  If this is the case then pro-actively contact your instructors as soon as feasible.

Please utilize the following resources if you have been impacted by the Creek Fire or might be impacted:

The American Red Cross Central Valley Region is here to help and can be reached at 1-800-733-2767 for hotel vouchers and food.

State Center Community College District offers free and confidential mental health resources through Halcyon. They can be reached at 1-888-425-4800 and clinicians are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Please be safe and let us know if we can be of any assistance as you navigate an additional barrier. We are here to support you.
