Madera County Department of Public Health - Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health (MCAH)

Programs and Services: 

SIDS Program - Grief and bereavement services to families grieving an infant who has died suddenly and unexpectedly (SUID/SIDS).  Services includes a public health nurse visit or phone calls, providing linkages to resources, and staying connected through the healing journey.

California Home Visiting Program (CHVP) and CalWORKS – Home visiting services offered during pregnancy or following their child’s birth to promote healthy childhood growth and development, while enhancing family supports though education and resource-building.  Home visits take place based on a family’s level of need and may be provided over three to five years. 

Adolescent and Family Life Program (AFLP) – A Positive Youth Development program for parenting or expectant youth with the design of case management to empower youth to pursue their dreams.  Presently, face-to-face visits occur through virtual technology.
