Madera County Mosquito & Vector Control District

The MCMVCD is a publicly funded organization that works to combat the nuisance and health concerns caused by Madera’s mosquito population. The Central Valley consistently has local transmissions of the West Nile & Saint Louis Encephalitis viruses amongst residents. Viral infections can lead to serious health concerns, or even death. The MCMVCD works with residents to suppress or exterminate their local mosquito populations. The MCMVCD provides information on mosquito feeding/breeding habits, how to avoid bites, information on pesticides, and mosquito-source reduction management.

The MCMVCD provides charge-free home inspections! Homes with noticeable adult populations are eligible for a charge-free pesticide application
